Minimum requirements for effectively using Credo Online Reference Service.

Browser requirements

  • Credo supports Internet Explorer 11, and the latest versions of Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. 
  • Credo is tested in and supports browsers running on both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
  • Credo can be accessed by any web browser supporting HTML, JavaScript, and cookies. Cookies are used to preserve login information and to maintain users' search terms between pages.

Use of JavaScript

Credo Reference uses JavaScript technology to deliver content and enhance the interactivity of our pages, and to run the Mind Map. JavaScript must be enabled in the browser to use our platform.

Screen Resolution and Display

  • Our platforms can be used effectively with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768.
  • Zooming in or out in the browser can affect some page formatting, and is not recommended.

Viewing videos and listening to audio files

Videos: 

  • Credo's products deliver videos using the HTML5 standard.
  • Streaming is enabled in our CDN.
  • The Credo video player supports Internet Explorer 11 and the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, and Chrome

Audio Files: 

Audio files included in some titles are in the MP3 format or the .wav format. To listen to the audio a plug-in that supports MP3 or .wav is required, such as Windows Media Player, ITunes, or Apple Quicktime.

Our Text-To-Speech function, ReadSpeaker, supports both streaming audio and downloading MP3s of the content. For more about the Listen function, see this brief help page on the ReadSpeaker site. 

Custom Services

  • Some tutorials include MP3 and OGG files, which require a player like Windows Media Player or Apple Quicktime.
  • Homework Help requires Flash player 10.3+. If you're having trouble using Homework Help, see our troubleshooting PDF.
