Link Resolvers (OpenURL)

Follow

Credo Online Reference Service is both a source and a target of link servers. Users can follow links from citations in Credo Online Reference Service to their link resolvers, and you can follow links from journal databases to Credo Online Reference Service.

To set up a new OpenURL Source in Credo, log into your Admin account at https://admin.infobase.com. Look for Credo Reference, then choose "Product Settings">"OpenURL Settings"

On the OpenURL page, add the link server, image, and text, and click save.

  • The link server URL should not have a ? in it - the platform will add that piece.
  • The image will not resize - make sure it is small!
  • Adding the image is a two step process: browse to find the file, then "upload." If you save and the image is a broken icon, delete it and try the browse/upload steps again.

To find the link resolver on the platform, look for an article that has a bibliography at the end; here is one example from Academic Core.

.........

To serve as a link resolver target, Credo Online Reference Service has delivered data to the following link resolver vendors. These vendors' support teams would be the best resource on enabling this option.

  • Serials Solutions: 360 Link
  • Ex Libris: SFX
  • TDNet: TOUResolver
  • EBSCO: Link Source
  • OCLC
