How does the Mind Map work?

Follow

The Mind Map started with a list of millions of concepts from an external knowledgebase which was run against all Credo title content. Any concept not appearing in a Credo article was excluded. Using the revised list, we ran a natural language programming (NLP) process against our articles to find relationships between the concepts, based on term frequency, proximity, and other metrics. Using this data, the Mind Map displays the concepts as nodes and the relationships as connecting lines, with the central node corresponding to search results from the content of your Credo subscription. Clicking other nodes will change the search results to match; no nodes should appear that do not have results in your account.

This process is good at surfacing connections but sometimes the connections aren't obvious or intuitive. It's intended as a starting point/brainstorming tool. For more information and a short video introduction, see the Mind Map page in the training section of our Help Center, or email support@credoreference.com with any questions or feedback.
