IP Authentication

Credo supports authentication via IP address. IP authentication gives access to recognized IP addresses so that users within your institution will not have to provide access credentials. Most institutions choose IP address authentication as their in-library authentication method. We currently support IPv4 and IPv6. Please note that if your institution uses IPv6, you must provide us with these values for access.

How do I add IPs to my account?

To update the IP addresses for your account, please Email Support with the information. IPs currently cannot be added or changed in your librarian Admin account.

How do I find my IP address?

Your institution's technical team should be able to provide a full list of your IPs. This complete list will ensure that your patrons can access Credo from anywhere in the institution.

If we have your full IP list but you're experiencing access issues, Credo may ask you to visit this page on an affected computer:

https://whatismyipaddress.com/

This page will return information about that computer's IP, which may have been left out of the complete IP list.

If the section "IPv6" has a value, please ask your technical team for the IPv6 format ranges.

If you're experiencing access issues, please Email Support and include this IP info to help us troubleshoot.
